This is one of the most delightful film books in print. Here is a rare opportunity to eavesdrop on two cinematic masters from very different backgrounds as they cover each of Hitch's films in succession. Any book-length interview with Alfred Hitchcock is valuable, but considering that this volume's interlocutor is François Truffaut, the conversation is remarkable indeed. Indispensable dialogue with Hitch, but the reproduction of the film stills is horrific! gw The original book is indispensable. The dialogue between Hitchcock and Truffaut is priceless. On that account, the book is five stars, and a must have. But this edition is complete garbage because the reproduction of the film stills is absolutely dismal. The stills are murky, dark, and dull. It does not compare to the . "A must for any cinephile" according to Alan Sandler. Wonderful incite into how Hitchcock made his wonderful films. Truffaut does great interviews that bring out a lot of the personal thoughts and ideas of Alfred Hitchcock. A great read and lots of photos.. Fascinating Was a gift, and the recipient was thrilled!
