I've seen interviews with Mike Portnoy (former DT drummer) in which he claims that he was ready to quit during the recording of this album due to record company interference. The resulting album seems to have been met with mixed reactions as the songs are noticeably shorter. For guitarists however this may be something of a blessing as it is possible to master some of the. Guitar Transcriptions and Notation for DT's latest album A Customer A must have for any DT fan that has some talent and ambition. This album is a bit more 'practical' for younger musicians wanting to learn a bit more on Petrucci's style and licks. The guitar parts are somewhat toned down and less 'showy' than those on previous DT albums, but the songs presented here are WELL worth the book.
