DESCRIPTION:
“Packed with whimsical and revealing observations, perfect for any who wants a solid introduction to the variety and comedy of Prairie Home Companion’s radio monologues.” The Bookwatch
Here, for the first time ever, News from Lake Wobegon monologues from the entire history of “the little town on the edge of the prairie” are presented in one collection. Garrison Keillor has been delighting audiences for four decades now with heartfelt, moving, and downright hilarious tales from the shores of Lake Wobegon. From early fan favorites “Bruno the Fishing Dog” and “A Trip to Grand Rapids” to more recent highlights such as “The Hochstetter House” and “The Arrival of Liz,” Lake Wobegon Family Reunion brings together the friends, neighbors, and family members that listeners have embraced as their own.
Garrison Goes Home renee It's Garrison Keillor telling Lake Wobegon stories. Nothing more needs to be said. You either are or aren't a Garrison Keillor fan. I "are". Some of the older stories are on here and it's good to hear them again. He's family, as far as I'm concerned, so I love to hear him weave a tale.. "Garrison Keillor is a must buy" according to Joan R. My husband and I love Garrison Keillor. His stories are life stories told with very dry humor. We always include G.K. CDs on road trips, they are stories that you can listen to over and over and still laugh. His style has improved over the years. The first CD has "Living Flag" story told in 1981 which is a good story, however, I have heard the same story told 10 and 20 years later and his story telling techniques and emphasis have improved. Don't let this comment shy you away from purchasing this set of CDs. CD #1 includes stories from 1981 to 1986. CD #2 includes stories from 1987-1991. CD#. Garrison Keillor: Master Story Weaver! Garrison Keillorhilarious as usual. It's such a pleasure to hear such wonderful stories about such interesting people. If you ever have the pleasure of visiting Minnesota or Wisconsin you'll certainly find one of these 'characters'.
