Does returning to your childhood memories bring closure Once again, I enjoyed another Jayne Ann Krentz's story. Her characters have a sense of humor that I enjoy a lot and her books are populated with the offbeat in people and businesses. This 3rd book in the trilogy of Eclipse Bay brings back many of the people from earlier books, and it's like bumping into old friends on the street. The mystery behind this story wasn't as complicated as it was in earlier books, but it was fun to read and a very pleasant to reread and g. "JAK at her BEST!!" according to Deborah MacGillivray. There are two things about JAK: She is one of my favourite writers and secondly, I have found her works - except for the Off World books - to be off beam during the last five years. She is great, but it's like she polished the gem just a little too much, and in that glossy mainstream treatment of her romances, she lost the fire that made her so special. She is one of the few writers I collect in hardback (Lynsay Sands, Melanie Jackson and Trish Jensen would be the o. not very warm This book seemed different in some ways from about all the author's other books. For one thing, the hero was not so well developed. In most of JAK's books her heroes' behavior is better understood from the start. They are shown to be vulnerable and in need of love underneath a somewhat rough or cold exterior. You just don't get that about this character. In fact he was deliberately cold in his treatment of the women in his past. Jayne doesn't usually write 'em that
