Practical book about DOING and making opportunities occur College Stealth An excellent and practical book about doing and making opportunities occur based on what a person currently has; it’s a book about eliminating excuses and moving forward. The nerd in me is ecstatic that it’s well researched, cross-tying elements of previous literature and commentary in fields such as communication, but then the topic is made practical by Pettitt. Pettitt creates this practicality and realism in her commentary, personal reflections, and then appeals to the reader to engage in activities to understand through self-reflection using one’s hea. "How to transform your past into a NOW you can own." according to Eileen McDargh. Being the runt of the litter, with the unpardonable sin of being smart instead of cute, and simply not "fitting in" for a long time, I loved this book. I sped read it and now will need to go back again slowly. There is so much to grasp as Jessica shares deep parts of herself and introduces a three-part methodology to explore just why and how we show up. We all carry within us deeply held beliefs that can get in the way of STANDING UP and STANDING OUT. Jessica believes and teaches: we ARE good enough now.Read and reap. I know I did and am.. Love love love Most amazing all round book I've read in a while! Humor, real life application, inspirational - all in one. Even as a social worker I tend to forgot about the simple thing as connection. This book is a good read and I love the journaling built in along the way.
