Alzheimers: A Mother Daughter Journey Gentle and validating to read for one with similar experience - not a how-to according to courteousneighbor. I enjoyed the book. Buying it was the first time I had downloaded a book by an author who is not somewhat famous. Having bought many books and attended many trainings on handling dementia, I am now wary of books that will only depress me about the stages yet to come in my mothers Alzheimers Disease. "Gentle and validating to read for one with similar experience - not a how-to" according to courteousneighbor. I enjoyed the book. Buying it was the first time I had downloaded a book by an author who is not somewhat 'famous'. Having bought many books and attended many trainings on handling dementia, I am now wary of books that will only depress me about the stages yet to come in my mother's Alzheimer's Disease. This is my own personal feelings about this book. My mom has Alzheimer's and I have been trying to read as much about the disease as I can. While I have a brother and sister to help ( and they do) this lady had no one to help her much, she had to do themost of it herself. I could relate to a lot of Celia's problems and the way she cared for her mother. I am glad she wrote about theirexperience's with this awful disease. The mom I knew and loved is gone no. "Magnificent!!" according to Michelle. Alzheimer's: A Mother Daughter Journey is magnificent. I found much comfort as I "traveled" on the journey with Celia & her mom. Having just recently lost my grandmother, it brought back some of the same memories we recently shared. The book outlines the stages of Alzheimer's through real life experiences, many of which I can relate too. I found Celia's strength remarkable and the photos just breath-taking! I hope I can sustain the patience and understand
