Someplace Else said Another disappointment I’m sorry to say. Another disappointment I’m sorry to say. I’ve read and have every one of Barry Eisler’s books and most have been 5 stars, although those were the first four or five. However, this book continues the trend that the books and story line has been getting stale and, honestly, somewhat repetitive. As a prequel, I expected and wanted more to . It also fills in an area of the Rain history which does support the entire series. One problem though, the book just came out and I'm done reading it already, and steady Barry Eisner readers know that . He has precise powers of description and somehow evokes compassion for some characters you'd never want to meet. As always, a hard John Rain to put down.
