Good Novel , Poor Audio. Stephen Vincent Kempton I am a huge Edgar Rice Burroughs fan . I read most of these as a youth or very young adults. Recently I have been re-reading these books. I read the Fall River edition of the first Three Novels and greatly enjoyed them so I thought I would try this 4th Novel on audio MP3 Disc.Well I found the experience to be a lot less enjoyable. One of the reasons is that Burroughs uses a vocabulary with numerous alien Names and Places. When you are reading at your own pace you have time to sort these out . You can go back and ch. I have enjoyed the John Carter series Dawn Clark I have enjoyed the John Carter series, and this book fits right in with the rest of the series. If you like Edgar Rice Burroughs first books of the Mars series, you will enjoy this one too.
When Thuvia is abducted, blame is cast upon Carthoris. But both are innocent victims of the sinister Prince Astok of Dusar, whose lust for Thuvia brings all of Mars to the brink of war. Carthoris ends up following in his father's footsteps, fighting savage beasts and phantom armies as he rescues Thuvia and saves Barsoom from destruction.. In this fourth novel of Edgar Rice Burroughs's popular Barsoom series, the focus shifts from John Carter, Warlord of Mars, and Dejah Thoris of Helium (protagonists of the first three books in the series) to their son, Carthoris, prince of Helium, and Thuvia, princess of Ptarth
