As an Arabic linguist who has read the Koran, Just A Concerned Citizen As an Arabic linguist who has read the Koran, Mr. Spencer made crystal clear quite a few charming concepts that went completely over my head the first time. For example, "those whom your right hands possess" doesn't sound nearly so innocuous when you realize this is Koranic euphemism for slaves (something this "perfect book" takes complet. It goes beyond the simplistic characterizations of peaceful and violent Muslims, but delves into the theology that undergirds modern Islam in many of its variants. I liked the fact that Mr George Mitchell I liked the fact that Mr. Spencer did not tell me what to think about the Koran ,but rather what it said and allowed me to make up my own mind. The refferences were broad and many to get an idea that this book was not his own idea, but others as well. Match it with the Koran in english and you get the big picture. Good read.
