You can convince yourself of just about anything Kim Scott I'm pretty sure Sir Arthur was having a mid-life crisisand REALLY needed to believe in the existence of fairies during this time. Doyle use his intellect and rationale to support his theory that fairies possibly exist, and uses photos to add more "evidence" . Fortunately, he recognizes he doesn't prove anything one way or another--and his "evidence" is pretty weak--but overall it was a fascinating read, if only to see into the creative mind of Doyle.. I liked this book a lot I liked this book a lot, even though it's a little old fashioned. The writing style seems somewhat stiff for our times, but worth the patience it requires. This book is not a novel; it is a meditation on spiritualism from an author who was haunted by it. The photos discussed in this book have become known as the Cottingly Photos(1917/1921). A.C. Doyle was genuinely interested in this topic and it's great to have access to the photos. If you are even slightly intereste. Fairies are real?
