Quirky, Funny & Greatly Informative BDC2009 This book is really awesome, full of a great deal of historical information about South Africa that I never would have known. Published in 2007, so a few things were slightly dated, but nothing that would make me not recommend it highly. I liked this book because it sets the context before arriving into South Africa. A very easy and quick read over the long flights from US to Africa. This is not a travel guide but one that presents in broad strokes the history that has shaped current sentiments. It desperately needs a revision (new edition) since this was written in 2007. A lo. "Well Rounded Info" according to BD. It is the perfect companion to one's trip to South Africa. It is broad in it's scope, touching on a little bit of everything from it's history, government, customs, traditions, raceit's unity and discord. Again, it's NOT in depth but an overview on a lot.
