Erika V said Good and basic for young students. Good and basic for young students. It has the beginning pieces for independent hand-work, but it doesn't overwhelm the students with too much at once. The pieces are also much more interesting than the pieces in the previous books, which help me to keep the students interested in practicing.. Challenging, but accessible. I am not a piano player, but my daughter is taking lessons and devouring these workbooks. Seems that they are just easy enough to feel accomplished, but challenging enough not to be boring. My daughters didn't really like practicing piano until they got this and the Technique books! I would definitely recommend for new piano players, the songs are fun and different than the boring traditional books I used.
