DESCRIPTION:

"Still recovering." according to Laurie Dufresne. I got an advance copy of Afterlife and devoured it in a few sittings. Sakey is a genre master, and here his storytelling talents are working on overdrive. The marketing says Ghost and Matrix, but those are loose, nearly irrelevant markers. The book is a monumental work of literary invention and totally original, a mash-up of straight ahead crime-thriller writing with one of the most fully realized parallel worlds I've encountered on the page. If you loved Brilliance, Afterlife is an ambitious leap forward. If you're coming to this author for the first time, lucky you.. Love after Death I've just finished reading Mr Sakey's latest novel and the only reaction I have is: Is there any form of book that he can't skillfully bring out? Afterlife involves an approach to what comes after we pass away that is both surrealistic and mesmerizing at the same time. Will Brody is a member of an FBI task force in Chicago reporting to Claire McCoy who is a beautiful woman as well as being a very talented manager. While their on the job relationship is straightforward and correct they have also fallen in love and look forward to a life together with Will resigning from the FBI in order not to compromise Claire.. Amazon Customer said Huge fan of this Book. I'm a big fan of Sakey's previous work (i.e. Brilliance Trilogy), but was excited to see him take this book in a totally fresh and new direction. He continues to challenge himself and his readers with his own unique way of looking at the world (in this case the Afterworld). I think he presents a very hopeful and interesting take on what the afterlife may be like, something I certainly had never considered! Couple that with a love story and fast paced narrative and you've got yourself a great read. Enjoy!. young boys is really saying something! Soon to be a major motion picture from Imagine Entertainment and producers Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. From the author of the million-copy bestselling Brilliance Trilogy comes a mind-bending thriller that explores our most haunting and fundamental question: What if death is just the beginning?. A terrorist has claimed eighteen lives and thrown the nation into panic. Cars lie abandoned. He's relieved to spot other people - until he sees they're carrying machetes. He wakes without a scratch. As head of an FBI task force, she hasn't had a decent night's sleep in weeks. Against this horror, something reckless and beautiful happened. But the line between life and death is narrower than any of us suspect - and all that matters to Will and Claire is getting back to each other
