Lynn T. said A Good Cozy Mystery Read. Mel Turner is a general contractor who restores and renovates historic houses and buildings in the Oakland/San Francisco area. She has taken over the business from her father. In this 7th book, her business has been hired to restore a lighthouse and the lightkeeper's house. The house will be an inn. The lighthouse is close to San Quentin.A murder takes place early in the book when body comes tumbling down the steps of the lighthouse. It is not an accident as there is a knife in the body. Mel's f. Marivale said Interesting mystery with great lighthouse information. I've always liked Juliet Blackwell's Haunted Home Renovation series but I enjoyed this one especially. The story keeps you guessing and the characters are always interesting. The lighthouse information in this story was particularly of interest to me since I volunteer in one and the lighthouse history and information was completely accurate. I particularly loved her use of the keeper's logs.. "A Good Read" according to Kindle Customer. This book is good. Not great, not quite up to the author's usual standards, but quite good. If you haven't read the author's other books, you would probably enjoy it tremendously. If you have read them, you might be a little impatient with this one.The problem is that there are side stories that pull away from the main mystery. The author seems to be setting up the next book, or at least a new chapter in Mel's life. Frankly, it took away a bit from the story of the island. However, the island st
