Nahskip it. No advice. Daryl Great title, not so great book. I've worked with toxic personalities and I was looking for information on how to best deal with the organization and individuals. Unfortunately, this book just does a lot of telling you that toxic workplaces exist. Yep, I know there are toxic situations, and I didn't really want to read more about what I've been experiencing. Very little advice on what to do about it. It could work as a nice prop on your office bookshelf if you're going for one of those passive-aggressive. "The authors do a great job describing what you can do from different perspectives" according to Gary A DePaul. Not only is this book well written, but it is based on real research - not just an opinion survey. The authors do a great job describing what you can do from different perspectives. You might not be able to change your whole organization, but you can avoid common misnomers and at least handle any situation more informed than using trial-and-error that could cost you emotional energy and wasted time.. "worth the time!" according to Amazon Customer. I learned to recognize toxic behavior in people I used to think we're just in a mood or fragile. Good coping tools offered.
