Very disappointing/ Not her best work Aaeris17 As an avid Philippa Gregory reader, I have read everything she has published. I love the Wideacre trilogy and even find delight in the outlier novels such as "The Wise Woman" and "Fallen Skies". This current novel, however, has none of the magic of "Taming of the Queen" or the "White Queen" series. Instead of creating a vivid Scottish world, Gregory has given us a fairly two dimensional heroine who's obsessive desire to best her sisters drives every decisi. "Intriguing" according to Jamie. I absolutely love the books written by this author, especially the ones that have to do with the Tudor family and that time period. She writes so well that it is almost as if you are there experiencing it at the same time. For parts of this I was really torn with whether I liked it or not, after a little while I realized that it was because I had grown to love King Henry the eighth and all of the stories and wives that the author has put into perspective i.
