Great escapism I just reread this book for at least the third time. The pacing through much of the book is so fast that I end up feeling like I've been caught up in one of Miles' adventures myself. He is such a great character, equal parts exasperating and endearing. I've read other books in the Vorkosigan saga, only the Miles books appeal.For the uninitiated, Miles is the only offspring of an enlightened, mo. Classic, and long lost. I first bought Warrior's Apprentice in a Stars and Stripes Book Store in Cooke Barracks, Germany (Goeppingen, near Stuttgart). I became an immediate and lifelong Bujold fan. Unfortunately, my copy of the book was lost in storage during my terminal PCS tour. I'll always regret that loss more than all the rest of the books that went missing during that move (only one book box vanished. Classic, and long lost.
