I didn't think I had to read reviews before buying a book with Ann McCaffrey's name on it. It is obviously not Ann McCaffrey's writing. The book is poorly written, frustrating, confusing, and a major disappointment. I kept rereading unable to determine who was who from where or when. I would no. I really wanted to like this book I've been a fan of Anne and now Todd's world of Pern since I was 8 years old. I grew up with stories of Lessa and Menolly. I even shed a tear when I read that Masterharper Robinton died in "All the Weirs of Pern".
