A Must Have I was fortunate enough to work with Scott on a couple of these projects. Many that are published here I had not seen though. Paging through the book and pouring over the illustrations, plans, sketches, thumbnails, the evolution and design process involved, its a staggering and impressive body of work. I'll be referring to this generously illustrated and enjoyable tome for years to come.. but I'm very pleased so far Haven't finish reading it, but I'm very pleased so far.. The book is extraordinary in its provocative text as one peruses the hundreds of beautiful drawings. John P John Sheehy This outstanding Book “The Nature of Design” is a masterpiece and a must read. I found the book to be credible, thoughtful and profound. Within its heavily illustrated pages (over 270), Architect M. Scott Lockard traces the relationship of architectural drawing and the nature of design. The book is extraordinary in its provocative text as one peruses the hundreds of beautiful drawings.John P. This book is a 'must read' for seasoned architects and urban designers who will find the provocative message resonating with their own challenges and insecurities in achieving compelling, functional and realistic designs. It's here where the heartstrings of the project are buried, here when the eyes have clouded over seemingly infinite lines of small print, that Scott's work is positioned to close the deal.
