A musical master, but the music ain't happening Great subject about a musical master. Should be required material for any new bass player. Entertaining format (more like reading a magazine) with oodles of photos, thorough history, and insight into this bass playing giant. This issue, and reason for the low review, is about the audio CDs. I was shocked to discover that during the binding process, the CDs were literally glued into the binding. They broke immediately when I tried to extract them--and I know a bit about book binding so eve. If you love classic Motown If you love classic Motown, then this book is for you. All the information you need to "begin" to understand the mastery of James Jamerson's bass playing and the classic sound of that era. Also, great information and comments from several members of the "Funk Brothers" studio band most of whom are now departed.
