Pippi: a heroine for our time! Cissa I adored Pippi as a kid! And this novel- more a set of short stories- is great.Pippi is very anarchic, and demonstrates the capabilities of 9-year-olds, albeit in an exaggerated way. She is kind, stands up top both adult and child bullies, and requires everyone to treat her like herself, rather than an example of a class.This is a heroine for both boys and girls- my husband also loved these stories as a kid.Very recommended!. Loved this book as a little girl! Melissa Mesa I loved this book as a little girl and I'm excited my daughter will be getting it in her Easter basket this year. I would have given this book 5 stars without a doubt, but the front cover of the book was torn. So that was disappointing, but a little tape will fix it.. Classic that stands the test of time I just started reading Pippi to my 5 year old and she is HOOKED. Her first real chapter book and every night she's ready for me to read the very next chapter. She can't wait to learn to read "properly" so that she can enjoy the text for herself, in the meantime we're having loads of fun laying in bed together and chuckling over the antics of that mischievous redhead!
