Excellent book! I first saw Jerry Uelsmann's work in the sixties when we were stranded in a Chicago Airport by a snowstorm, waiting for the same commuter plane. He was in his late twenties then and carrying a portfolio of his work. As we talked, he shared it with me. I knew. "Beautiful hard work in action" according to Anonymous. As someone who shoots on film and works in the darkroom, I can not recommend this artist enough.If you want to know how he accomplishes this his work then read Uelsmann: Process and Perception. For thirty years he was McAlpin Professor of the History of Photography and Modern Art at Princeton University, where he also served as faculty curator of photography at the university's art museum..
