DESCRIPTION:

The book of Acts, also written by Luke, takes up the story where the book of Luke leaves off. Luke shares Jesus' teachings on prayer, forgiveness, and our obligation to demonstrate mercy and grace in dealings with others. Luke applied scrupulous accuracy to all he wrote, to ensure that what we hear is factual. It provides us with the startling details of the birth of the church and the early years of expanding the kingdom of God on earth. Being a physician, Luke learned early on the need to exhibit compassion and mercy toward others. This inspired account of church history awakens our souls with transforming power and gives us courage to be witnesses for Christ wherever he sends us!. The book of Luke is a glorious gospel penned by one of the early followers of Jesus. It begins in the upper room with 120 disciples and explains the explosive outpouring of the holy spirit resulting in tongues, prophecy, miracles, salvation, and the birthing of countless churches. Acts provides us with the story of Paul's three missionary journeys, illustrating the spread of the gospel, the addition of new believers, miraculous answers to prayer, signs and wonders and deliverance. It has been described as the loveliest book ever written giving us a very full picture of the life and ministry of Jesus. God

I was raised as a King James only girl, and I'm just now starting to really meditate on God's Word, and research words in Greek and Aramaic (the Hebrew dialect that Jesus spoke in). I read the Amplified Bible a few months ago, and it is amazing how in detail the verses go to try to include full definitions of what Jesus says and what it written through others by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. I love it. After that, I thought I would cautiously compare the Greek and Aramaic meanings to the Passion Translation. Wow. Many verses of scripture that I never really understood in the KJV were now understandable. Another thing that I loved was that this was an English Translation, which was very readable, and as I have already stated, understandable. The only thing that was SLIGHTLY disappointing was sometimes Brian translated a verse from perhaps the Greek AND Aramaic, but in the notes he gives the literal Aramaic translation, and invariably I loved the literal Aramaic, and I wondered why he didn't just use it? Nonetheless, I was so glad he provided the Aramaic transla. the best translation ever! Leslie Lane This is now my favorite translation. It is clear, revelatory and has shed new light on scriptures that I have read for the past 43 years! I can hardly wait for more books to be translated! If you are hungry for God you will not be disappointed with this translation.the only thing that is hard for me are the footnotes; they are very small font, but worth using bright light and glasses to read.
