Okay, but not the complete story Gregory Brylski In summary, 1) Eat only foods that look like the original item - not anything processed. 2) Don't swallow your food whole - take time to chew it; 3) Don't eat out of the bag or box. 4) Exercise (at least 10,000 steps per day), and 5) Eat whatever you want because the experts don't really have complete knowledge of nutrition.In reality, things are a little more complex. As one ages, digestive enzymes decrease causing digestive problems; hormones levels change; use of Pharma drugs (even NSAIDs like Tylenol or Advil) kills digestive bacteria in the intestines; accumulation of toxins . "Too much opinion and almost no science" according to Atila. As a scientist, I bough this book hoping that she would use science to explain her opinions, as the book is sold as written by a neuroscientist. I only got to read up to page 190, when she starts to recommend a "detox" recalibration avoiding sugar, wheat, dairy and alcohol products with no references at all. The very few drops of science she provides could be found on Michael Pollan books, and this is an area full of research that she should be able to read and talk about. I've eaten very healthy for a number of years, but have had a problem getting the last few pounds of body fat off my frame. I've only been using the tricks and tips for a few days but already feel so much more confident and empowered to make the right decisions when I'm out and not able to control the exact calories or ingredients.
