In Candy, Goldberg uses Super 8 film stills, images of New Haven’s urban landscape, Polaroid portraits, and collaged archival material to create a layered reflection on 20th-century American cities that the artist calls a “photo-novel.” A Good and Spacious Land, with photographs by Wylie, examines topographic changes resulting from the construction of the I-95/I-91 highway interchange in New Haven and connects a contemporary American interpretation of the “promised land” to the underlying biblical narrative.
