There are also pictures, lots of them as well as a short history of the ship. I recommend this series to any navy buffs out there as well as those with an interest in carriers.. Excellent publication Paul W. Hering Outstanding coverage of one of our earliest aircraft carriers, the photographs of her under attack and the damage and her subsequent loss are stirring, one cannot Imagine the pain of the men who manned her for almost 20 years watching her destruction. Beautiful shots of her in peacetime, her majestic form cutting through the sea, she was the Queen Of the Flattops.

The images are better than anything you can find on the web and the drawings really clear up a lot of questions. This book is a fresh look at the Lexington that is a must have for modelers and historians alike. Even the back cover is informative as one photo clearly shows Lex in blue in October 1941!
