I still love the von Trapps and the movie (which the family didn't like). It's just that Maria really paints a fuzzy warm picture. Worth reading, especially for kids, not exactly a biography Amy D. Maria Trapp's book reads a little bit like one of those Landmark biographies written for kids back in the 50s. That is not to say that the book isn't good. It is! But there's very little in the way of dates, historical background, reflection, analysis, introspection or anything negative
