there's always the chance that there are surprises ahead and at the end it wouldn't have been as bad as it seemed at the midpoin I only read about half of it before setting it aside. The writing is ok, but there are a few things in the plot that made the cost of continuing to read too high. Maybe I just didn't understand, but: towns don't have sheriffs. Counties do. Maybe it's just terminology, but it did seem to be a point of confusion in this story. In towns that are on the Mississippi River in southern Minnesota, "across the river" is Wisconsin. So the town sheriff, were he to exist, wouldn't be seeking a search warrant for anything across the river and any judge he saw in his . Linda M. England-pobanz said Darkness.
