The return of investment on this book is many orders of magnitude of what I paid for it. I am a professor and this book was an invaluable guide that taught me how to write when I was a Ph.D. student. I highly recommend it to others who need to learn the craft (not the art, mind you!).. "Must have!" according to HyrulianShields. This is a really great book. It's very useful for preparing to write. It doesn't so much tell you what you need to include, so it's not a manual on what to write, but does a great job explaining how to get your message across in an effective way (major pitfalls to avoid, examples on how bad writing can be improved, etc).I definitely held on to this after the class was finished and I've gone back to it while working on my thesis..
