Lady Elizabeth Castleton determines not to have anything to do with him, but after being caught in a compromising situation, she finds herself betrothed to him. The truth must be discovered at any cost.I especially enjoyed how true to life Elizabeth's character was. She wants to know the facts and not listen to gossip, but the gossip does have an impact on how she views her new husband. She is not totally alone, relying on her maid to help her in her quest for the truth. This is was well written and . A Lovely Tale K. Swinton This is my first read by Wendy May Andrews and I'll be back for more.I found her regency era world quite lovely. I really liked Lady Elizabeth. She is a strong female with well formulated opinions, yet still every inch a lady of breeding. She occasionally throws the strict rules of society away for what she deems a cause more important or worthy. The fact that she finds herself comprimised is horribly ironic as she is quite proper. Her betrothed being a suspected wife killer adds a mystery to be solved, an obstacle to be overcome. It's an ingenious plot twist. The characters are well formed, complex, relatable. you'll be intrigued! F. Brown This was a page-turner. I love Regency Romance, and this one is sweet and clean. Lady Elizabeth is caught in a compromising position with the Earl of Heath and she must marry him in order to save her reputation. In this period of time, all it takes is being found in a room alone with a man to create a scandal. Elizabeth’s character is delightfully complex, and the inner war with her emotions is perfectly described. The best portion is a sequence of thoughts where she considers how much she likes the Earl and how attractive he is. She thinks to herself that he may actually be a good husband…if no
