JEFFRY CHASE I bought this book as a follow on to Mark Hanson's "The Art of Contemporary Travis Picking" which gave me the Travis picking basics. Do that book first as this book is not for beginners. The tablature can get quite advanced and I would say , IMHO, you need to master the Travis Picking book I mentioned above before tackling this one. Having said that, this book has a gr. "Best Lesson Book I have ever purchased" according to MDruziak. Many of the other reviews have said it first, but Mark Hanson has created an excellent series of finger picking lesson books.The Art of Solo Fingerpicking is an intermediate fingerpicking book. If you can only strum a few chords or are new to fingertyle, start off with Mark's The Art of Contemporary Travis Style Picking first and then come back to this one.The exercise.
