Not the best start to a new series I'm a fan of Dakota's writing, but this one kind of fell flat for me. First off, her bff is super annoying, and really grated on my nerves with over reacting and how she treats her friend in several scenes of this book. Also, Lemon, I don't know what it is, but she never clicked for me. I found her character very lacking, and that bothered me. Her mom is crazy, and I found. Stacie Bug said Never bring a monkey to a crime scene!. This is a great new series! This is a book anyone would enjoy reading. It is kept at more of a G rating than some of Dakota's other books. The characters are entertaining and I found myself wanting to know more about them. The story takes place in a small harbor town in Washington State. The cast of characters include our main heroine Lemon Layne, our intrepid sleuth and p. BadgerGrad99 said Interesting start. This is a promising start to a series! I loved Lemon Layne and the other eccentric characters that live in Fig Harbor. I actually lol'd a few times, even as they solved the murder mystery. Coco and Justice were great supporting characters, and I'm getting hints that Justice might have a thing for Lemon. Can't wait to see where that goes!It did bug me though that many times
