Grant McClintock divides his time between his native Oklahoma and Montana. He began his journalism career in Omaha and Atlanta before joining NBC News in 1966. Over the years he has fished, guided, and photographed many of the great trout, steelhead, and salmon rivers in the United States. Five Stars G. McClintock I am the author of this book and I recommend it without reservation but then I would.. Beautiful pictures- Misplaced lecture on population control Amazon Customer I liked all of it except the lecture on the last page about how we need human population control to protect our planet and to preserve good fly fishing. Really!? Was that necessary in this book? The effort and space would have been better spent advocating for one of the many conservation programs. If anything, far fewer people are getting outdoors now than when the book was published because they can't see past the smart phone in their hands..
