"No illustrations" according to Lisa Price. I'm not quite sure what to say about this book except to advise looking elsewhere for instruction. While the writing is stilted and sometimes confusing, it's a minor issue compared to the fact this is a "drawing for beginners" book with no illustrations. I can't imagine who i would recommend this book to - if you've never drawn, I'm not sure it would help you. If you have basic skills, i don't see how it would take you further. I gave it two stars because it seemed well-intentioned, but I did not find it at all helpful.. "Good guide on very basic drawing stuff, like materials, pencils, etc." according to Regina M.. This is a good guide for a very novice drawer. Lots of definitions and techniques are described. Paper and pencil types are discussed in detail and I think the author explains a basic knowledge of what an artist needs to get started with drawing. I wouldn't say this was an ultimate guide to drawing since there were no illustrations in the book and no practice exercises. If this is the author's beginner's book with an intermediate and expert book on the way, I think it's a good start to a nice collection of guides.. Useless This book is useless to the beginner who actually Amazon Customer UselessThis book is useless to the beginner who actually wants to start drawing. Everything is hypothetical, there isn't even a single illustration to help explain what is being said. There is one paragraph written for every concept, which one can actually get off Google for free and learn more about.
